Fayose To Magu: I Must Not Die In EFCC Cell As You Have Boasted .

Former Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, who presently is being detained by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission has alerted members of the public of an audio recording conversation currently circulating on the social media in which the EFCC acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, boasted that nothing will happen should he die in their cell, saying that nothing should happen to him. Fayose, who reacted through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said he was baffled by the conversation and the plot to eliminate him because of his opposition to the misrule of the President Muhammadu Buhari. He wondered why his punishment should be death. He said he remained resolute in his opposition to the All Progressives Congress government tyrannical rule, which he alleged has impoverished the people, stressing that the country was moving at geometrical progression to fascism under Buhari. The former governor told the anti-graft agency to charge him to court as he has no statement t...

Police Headquarters in Calabar was turned into a mini-carnival yesterday as investors of a Ponzi scheme turned out to get a glimpse of the scheme operator arrested after raking a billion naira. Mrs. Lizzy Efa, an operator of Swiss Gold Ponzi scheme, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police at the border between Nigeria and Cameroon in Bakassi, while trying to flee from the country, after raking in about a billion naira. 2019 Elections: What Buhari Discussed With Service Chiefs In Closed Door Meeting.

Image
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday held meeting with heads of the National Security Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. This is as the security Chiefs have raised concerns over proliferation and stockpiling of weapons by politicians to cause mayhem ahead of the 2019 general elections. The meeting also discussed what it termed as attempts by “notable personalities” to manipulate and put pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through street demonstrations that could be hijacked by hoodlums and miscreants. The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, in a statement he read after the meeting, said it was recommended that security agencies should deploy their personnel to states ahead of the polls and to douse the tension created by recent rancorous political party primaries. According to he Minister: “The meeting started by discussing the general overview of the security situation in the country as it relates to the conduct of the forthcoming 2019 g...

Charge Fayose To Court Immediately, PDP Tells EFCC

PDP SOUTH WEST ZONE PRESS STATEMENT  FAYOSE'S CONTINUED DETENTION  We note with concern that the EFCC continues to hold in its custody immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Ayo Fayose who submitted himself to the Agency yesterday. Our concern is dictated by the fact that months ago, EFCC claimed that it has concluded its investigations and was merely waiting for Fayose to end his tenure and drop his immunity so that he could be arraigned. It's now going to 48 hours that he submitted to the agency and he is still being held incommunicado, this development immediately put a lie to the claim that EFCC is actually working in public interest but merely playing a partisan card as attested to by its unfortunate tweet in the immediate aftermath of the Ekiti election. We therefore hold firmly that if Fayose is not charged to court immediately to answer to whatever charges against him, then it will be very clear that the Buhari administration is merely using the EFCC to intimi...
