Plane Carrying 188 Crashes Into Sea After Takeoff In Indonesia, No Survivor.

The Lion Air aircraft crashed about 13 minutes after taking off for Indonesia.
Data from the Flight Radar website showed the plane took off before it stopped transmitting north east of Jakarta.
Preliminary flight tracking data from Flightradar24 shows the aircraft climbed to around 5,000 feet (1,524 m) before losing, and then regaining, height, before finally falling towards the sea.

A Russian military Il-20 aircraft with 14 service members on board went off the radars during an attack by four Israeli jets on Syria’s Latakia province, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Air traffic controllers at the Khmeimim Air Base “lost contact” with the aircraft on Monday evening, during the attack of Israeli F-16 fighters on Latakia, said the MOD. AFGHAN:UK LEAVE SOME NATIONALS BEHIND.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has admitted it will be a "challenge" for British nationals left in Afghanistan to now find a route to the UK. Speaking to Sky News, Mr Raab said the number of British nationals who had not been taken as part of the now-ended UK evacuation effort was in the "low hundreds".Acknowledging it was "unclear" when the airport in  Afghanistan 's capital Kabul would again be operating - following  this weekend's pullout of US and UK troops  - Mr Raab advised those still seeking to leave the country they could find a route to the UK via neighbouring countries.The foreign secretary said, since April, more than 17,000 British nationals, Afghans who worked with the UK, and other vulnerable people had been evacuated from the country.

41 Killed After Russian Plane Catches Fire.

Forty-one people were killed when a Russian passenger plane made a fiery crash-landing Sunday at a Moscow airport, said Elena Markovskaya, a member of the country’s Investigative Committee. Two children are among the dead, according to the committee. The Russian Superjet 100 was flying from Moscow to Murmansk when a fire broke out on board. Aeroflot Flight SU1492 returned to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, making a hard landing, news agency Interfax reported. Thirty-seven people survived, Markovskaya told reporters at Sheremetyevo Airport. Five survivors are hospitalized, she said. The plane had 73 passengers and five crew members on board.
